# Mobile app

> Buff on your phone: tasks, review, answers, research and Buff Code sessions with notifications. For buff.systems, Buff Community, Enterprise and Buff Code.

The Buff app for iPhone and Android is your workspace and your Buff Code in your pocket. Approve
a formulation, answer an agent’s question, accept a review, ask about documents, allow a
command in a Buff Code session — all of this can be done from your phone, without waiting until you are back at your
computer.

## What it can do

- **Development:** tasks and their progress, clarifying questions, approving formulations, review and
publishing. A task can be exported to Markdown or PDF and saved to the phone.
- **Ask and research:** a new question about a project or a knowledge space, answers with
links to sources. Files and photos can be attached to a question, a task and a review — “Attach” →
“Take photo”, “From gallery” or “File”; photos are offered where the project’s model can see
images, otherwise the app says so: “Model “…” cannot see images”. Images in the conversation, both yours and those created by Buff,
are shown as pictures. The text of an answer can be selected and copied.
- **More:** the knowledge base (add, edit, archive, knowledge base pass), audits (start and read,
export to PDF) and repositories (import, sync, new development project), search.
- **Buff Code:** sessions on your machine — the conversation with the agent, permission requests, modes
(“Ask”, “Edit on its own”, “Full access”, “Custom rules”, “Plan”), changes, git
(commit and push), files and terminal, automations, workflows, side conversation and spend.
- **“Needs attention”:** on the home screen, under the list of installations — everything awaiting your
decision, in all connected installations at once.
- **Side menu:** installations, sections, the project you are working with (chosen via “Choose a
project”, with search by name), “Notifications”, “Settings” and “Add installation”.
- **Notifications:** an answer is ready, a review is needed, an agent is waiting for permission — even when the app is
closed. Tapping one opens the right screen. More in [Notifications](/en/docs/mobile/notifications).

## Where to download

App Store for iPhone; Google Play, RuStore and AppGallery for Android — or the APK from the
[buff-community releases on GitHub](https://github.com/buffsystems/buff-community/releases)
(`buff-<version>.apk`, with its `.sha256` checksum next to it). All Android stores carry the same
build; the links are on the [app page](/en/mobile).

## What it works with

| What it connects to | How | More |
| --- | --- | --- |
| An organisation on buff.systems | A QR code, or a link and code, in the workspace’s “Settings → Phone” | [Pairing with the workspace](/en/docs/mobile/pair-cabinet) |
| Buff Community and Enterprise | The same way, from your installation’s workspace | [Pairing with the workspace](/en/docs/mobile/pair-cabinet) |
| Buff Code on your machine | “Settings → Phone” in the window or `/phone` in the console | [Pairing with Buff Code](/en/docs/mobile/pair-buff-code) |

One app holds several installations at once: an organisation on buff.systems, your company’s installation
and your own laptop with Buff Code. What that looks like and what happens when one is unreachable —
[Several installations](/en/docs/mobile/installs).

## Security in a nutshell

The phone and the installation talk through the buff.systems gateway, but **the gateway cannot read a single
message**: everything is encrypted on the phone and decrypted only by the installation (and
vice versa). The phone gets the permissions of whoever paired it — no more. More in
