# Execution scheme

> The graph of a task’s atoms and execution waves.

The **execution scheme** is a graph in which atoms are grouped into **waves** (the “Wave 1 / 2 / …” columns) in dependency order.

- A node’s colour shows its state: **done**, **in progress** or waiting.
- Arrows are the dependencies between atoms.
- Clicking an atom highlights it and its neighbours and lets you jump to the subtask.

The scheme appears once the task has been decomposed.
