# Repositories and sync

> The state of the mirrors relative to upstream, and syncing.

The **“Repositories”** section shows how our mirrors differ from upstream and lets you sync them.

- For each branch there is a status: **in sync**, **behind by N**, **new in upstream**, **ahead** or **diverged**.
- The default branch is marked; submodule pointer drift is shown.
- Actions: **Check** (re-check), **Sync** (pull in upstream) and **Sync all**.

Syncing is one-way (upstream → our mirror); `task/*` branches are not touched, and nothing is pushed out. Private sources need a token (see [Settings](/en/docs/settings)).

Repositories connected through the [connector](/en/docs/connector) (self-hosted git behind a firewall) are synced the same way — only the transfer is done by the agent in your network, and the token stays with you.
