# Attachments

> Files for a task, a clarification, a finding and conversations.

You can attach files in several places: to a **draft**, to an **answer to a clarification**, to a review **finding** and in an “Ask” conversation. Deep research takes no attachments — attach the file to a question in “Ask” or put it in a connected source.

- Supported are **Word, Excel, PowerPoint** (both the current `.docx`/`.xlsx`/`.pptx` and the older `.doc`/`.xls`/`.ppt`), **PDF**, **text** files and **images** in PNG, JPEG and WebP. Up to three files per message, up to 10 MB each and up to 20 MB together.
- The model reads the document’s content: text, tables, slides and their notes. The file type is determined by its content, not by its extension, so a renamed archive cannot be attached.
- **Images** — a screenshot, a photo of a whiteboard or a document — are accepted where the model can see images: then the file picker and drag-and-drop offer them. If the model cannot see images, they are not offered — the model could not read them anyway; the same goes for a scanned PDF without a text layer.
- From a phone you can take a picture with the camera or pick one from the gallery — in the [Buff app](/en/docs/mobile).
- In the task card, attachments are grouped: **for the task / for a clarification / for the review**.
