Notifications
The event centre and the bell.
Notifications collect events across your organisations.
- The bell in the header shows unread and recent events; there are “Mark all read” and “Show all”.
- You can also get the same events as push notifications in the browser — they are switched on per device in “Settings → Notifications”, where you also choose the event types.
- And on your phone — in the Buff app for iPhone and Android: a notification arrives even when the app is closed, and tapping it opens the right screen. Types are chosen in the app for each install (see Notifications on your phone).
- The full page names two numbers: how many events are new and how many of them need action. The “All / To do / For your information” segment separates what is waiting for you from what is just for your information.
- Events are grouped by day, filtered by organisation and project, and each leads to its task, review, question or repository.
- A task has its own “History” tab — the same events, picked out for this task and its subtasks.
- Events: a clarification, your decision on a formulation is needed, a formulation was approved or sent back for rework, a task was split into subtasks, a subtask was closed, a task is ready for review, a task was published, a merge conflict, an answer in “Ask”, a repository import and others.
- A space without code has fewer events — there are no tasks there: an answer in “Ask” and a knowledge base pass (one event per pass). A request from Notion, a Google Doc or a ticket gets its answer where it was asked, not in the bell.
