Editions

Three ways to get Buff: the buff.systems cloud, the free Community Edition on your own machine, and Enterprise on-premise under contract. How they differ.

You can get Buff in three ways. The code is the same — what differs is the set of capabilities, where it is installed and the terms.

How to choose

  • You want to try it without installing anything, or you work as a distributed team — SaaS.
  • You want the code and data to stay only with you, and three people and one organisation are enough — Community Edition. It is full-fledged development, “Ask”, research and the knowledge base on your model.
  • You need several organisations, permissions, SSO, auditing, more people and runners, support or an air-gapped environment — Enterprise on-premise.

Community and Enterprise are installed on your side and check their licence with buff.systems once a day. Exactly four fields are sent: the installation identifier, the version, the number of users and the number of runners; on our side the address the check came from is recorded. The contents of repositories, tasks and documents do not leave your machine.
